Phone symbol

What's the little phone symbol on the radio used for? I can't find anything useful in the owners manual. It's on my 08 F350.

Should mute the stereo. Have you pushed it yet?

That button is the most useless thing on the radio.....if I get a call where I need to mute the radio it is so much easier to just turn the ****!! I think the guy who designed that radio just had some extra space left over and decided to put that phone button in there

That is one dumb idea...Just push the on/off ****, Much easier and larger to find!!

It would be a good place to wire in a custom mute, but yes, a useless button, my 2000 had it and I did not understand its purpose either.

Typical engineer thinking.

It doesn't mute the radio but in fairness, when pushed, it does tell me there is no phone.

I just looked at the owners manual and it says that is what it is suppose to do on an 08. For 09 its for sync if equipped Other wise it will say no phone. On my 05 it mutes the volume don't ask me why they changed it.

i thought it was for hanging a trash bag

some guys use it to hang ladies under things I use it to hang my big a$$ spot lite

I have an 09. On mine it tells the system you want to either use the SYNC phone system or by holding the button down it will end a phone call. I also have the same button on the steering wheel controls which does the same thing..
