Junkyard Injectors

The truck in the junkyard is a 95 with 191,000 miles. Trck ran when it was delivered tp the yard.

Guy wants $75 a piece for the injectors, I have to remove them.

Is this a reasonable price? I want to use them as a core for my stage II's.

Eh... I sold a good set of AB's with 168k miles on them for $450 shipped. If you can get all 8 for $400 that's a fair deal.

Tell him 325 for all 8 and see what he says. Then if he takes it great if not go up a little. Worst he can do is say no and go look somewhere else. That's too much in my opinion.

Ok, thanks.

FordPride: The point behind all this is I can send these to Jim, avoid the core charge and get the new stage II's. THEN they can sit in the garage until I have the supporting mods done. Then I can sell my old injectors to cover the cost of buying these junkyard injectors.

What I mean is, I might not have the time to installed them soon enough to return the cores back to Jim before he just keeps my $800 core charge.

PLUS, this is most important. I can't have my truck down for any extended period of time. This is a work truck that I use to tow my 24' enclosed spray foam trailer.

When I did my Stage I's I found a guy who replaced injectors in his tow truck, got the whole set of 8 cores for $225

I got lucky on that deal...

Dang! Those are great prices.

I normally don't argue with this guy on prices, but maybe I will on this situation.

What about a used turbo? What is the going price for these. This guy wants $200 for it

Should just buy the whole engine...

Buy the whole engine if you can and if you have room to put it.

if you do shopping, you can get complete motors for 600-800, so make a reasonable offer to him.

1000 and under is great price for a motor.

There's a pretty good market for used injectors, though not to us enthusiasts. I have contacted several of the core places and they get $75 to $100 per injector for a core, and they don't budge.
That's why I have to charge an $800 core charge, if someone doesn't send theirs back I have to replace that set with the going market core value of $100 per injector.

Bottom line, he is high. You can find sets for sale in the forums for around $350 - $400 a set.
