Ive decided i cant afford a suspension lift right now but still want to lift my 93 f250 7.3 4x4 so im trying to figure out what is the best way to body lift it. Please let me know what you guys have done and what works and what doens't. Anything helps. Thanks.
I made mine out of solid aluminum on my lathe. I think I could go 1 3/4" without put anything in a bind. Steering shaft, ETC. I will have to double check my measurements though.
2? 4? 6? 8? What's several mean? Depending on size and budget there are a few ways to achieve lift.
body lift, lift springs and brackets, or doing the dana 60 swap, ect. What size tires you want to run?
Wait and save to do a good suspension lift. They aren't that bad it you DIY it instead of a kit. Are you lifting it because you need the clearance off the pavement, or are you just doing it for looks?
If you just need a quick and easy, put in some F350 flat springs up front, or just install add-a-leafs all around and get it aligned. Should hold you over until you can do it right.
I went to look at a truck on craigslist and believe it or not 8" bodylift, ill post pics when I get home. Looks so trashy
must be nice to be able to pull the heads off with out opening the hood lol
I have mine body lifted 4". This allowed me to fit my 37's with ease and keeps all that frame engine etc. wieght down low. I made mine from 2 1/2" sch 40 pipe with welded in washers at both ends. I had to add 2" to my steering shaft and 4" to both the trans and tcase shifters. The truck is as stable around curves and corners as it ever was and that is with out any sway bars. It also allowed me to keep the hitch as close to stock hieght as possible with the 37's.
