I have seen this problem on a couple different trucks with the 4'' compressor inlet. I had to reach up inside the hose and work it around with my hand until it was even all around on the inlet before tightening the t-bolt clamp. I then had a some trouble with aligning the CCV tube with the bracket, but it did bolt down after some twisting and pushing. It now seems to go back on better after going through some heat cycles and the hose has conformed to the new shape. Get it on there right and leave it be for awhile and it should be alright. No trimming or modification of the hose was necessary.

Weird. Mine went on just fine. Not tight, not loose. Snug like a woman should be.
