Well it seems we made out OK. Nothing fell on the house or the garage and crushed my truck, which makes this guy very happy. I just changed my oil yest and I would be if I wasted $25 lol. Just a few branches and alot of leaves, hardly anything in the basement either. It didn't even blow my archery target away! Hope everyone else on the East coast here is OK. .
Glad to hear you're OK, Tim. We're just getting a light rain here.
Are you going to get hit today like we did yesterday, or is it towards the end for you also? You get called out at all last night/today? How about our East coast brethren, chime in and let us know you're ok.
I guess better the shed than the house? It seems it was disappointing in a good way for everyone I have talked to so far, but its still pretty windy here (40+mph gusts) so we might still have the potential for a tree to fall. Fingers crossed
We had several branches down. That's about it though. Helped the people next door (they lost a branch that's bigger than some of my trees) and had lunch. I want a nap (not gonna happen though).

We got hit after you. We're still in the thick of it right now. I'll be honest, I've had enough. My FD has only gone out on one call so far while everyone else in the area is right out straight.
Hopefully you don't have to go rescue some of the idiots like we had here. 4 teens took a johnboat out cause they thought it would be fun, until the current slammed them into a tree and capsized it. FD to the rescue. Countless people driving into water too high, some around barricades, and then oops hey I need to be rescued. Stupidity is self- correcting. Be careful.
I lost power 5 minutes after I posted (for 19 hours). We had people in the county skip barracades with their cars and drown. Luckily, my FD only had to deal with pumping out basements. I went to get gas for my generator in the next town, which had power the whole time, and in 15 minutes of me passing through one spot, the culvert started to sink and wash out. I made it over, but it couldn't have been long before the road completely caved. My parents won't have power for a week due to a power pole being brought down.
the devastation here was unbelievable.
i have already called FEMA, and am awaiting their arrival as soon as the water goes down and the roads are opened up. here is a pic of the results of the tree falling and hitting my house.
