Good Deal? or Bad Deal?

Good Deal? or Bad Deal?
I just bought a 99 f150 4x4 off road extended cab flareside with a 5.4 liter with a tow package. The truck has 48k miles and minor door ding on driver side 4th door. Truck has new tires and looks great, it is the dark maroon red. It is full power but no CD player.
I paid 15,800.00 for the truck. Is this a good deal or bad deal, the deal started out asking 18,000.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Rod

It wouldn't be fair to you to start throwing around numbers on this site for several reasons. First and foremost: we can't see your vehicle. Secondly, values can vary greatly from one part of the continent to the other. Why don't you try this: check out some of the automotive websites, but www.edmunds.com in particular. Click on "used cars" and start building your vehicle. You'll need to put in your ZIP/ postal code to adjust for your location, and then go to "customize appraisal." You'll then put in whether you're buying or selling, what color, equipment, mileage, etc...I recommend Edmund's because they use "true market value." Their numbers are based on actual sales figures reported to them, not what dealers are asking or on wholesale auction results. If you have any problem with it (it takes a few tries to figure out how to work their site), just e-mail or send me a private message and we'll help you out. But that's how you'll REALLY know if you got a good deal or not. Good luck, and enjoy the new truck!

I always figure it is a "good deal", if you are satisfied! You will probably always be able to find someone who has "paid less" or "got more". I have bought and sold "lots" of vehicles in my life and have always been able to find someone who would have given me "more", if they knew I was selling (yea, right!). Again, if it feels good to you, it was a good deal!
