Broken Exterior Handle E150 Van
Taking off the plastic door panel looks intresting. I took the two screws off the handle and am trying to pry it from the bottom. Will I be breaking any sort of plastic plugs or is there a safer way to remove the panel. It looks to be two pieces separate from the window panel? So do I pull it out from the bottom and slide it down? After today I am ready to rip it out and use "liquid nails" to secure it back
I was hoping that an arm or spring was detached once I get a looky, so that I wouldn't have to drill out the rivits on the ext. handle. Is is possible to clip an arm back without buying a new handle from the dealer? I don't care about the ext. lock. So far I have found this guys site that shows some sort of diagram: http://www.clubfte.com/users/jniolon...awlatches.html
Any help would greatly be appreciated! I ordered the Chiltons Book for Ford Vans in hope I can learn something from that. Thanks for any info!

I had to put a window switch in my '94. The panel is held on with those stupid plastic rivets with the burr on them. Just pry the panel off with a wide screwdriver held next to the rivet. You'll probably break some in the process. When you go get your parts, the dealers sells the rivets. I got a package of 10 for about $1.50.
but the mechanism was just not staying stable (ie it was all moving together) when you pulled on the handle and wasn't pulling the cable with enough leverage to open the door. It was just lubed and bent and now it works great. In my next life I want to be a mechanic
