Hi-
Rancho rs5000's are good all around on/off road. Pretty cheap too for a brand name truck specific shock. If you buy them at Discount Auto Parts ("go with the crap you know") they have lifetime warranty.

you want "the best" shock

try either the rancho "RSX"

or the monroe "REFLEX" shocks

these are the same shock just different names

i just put 6 of them on my truck and there great

I agree the RSX is a great shock. I would not have put them on but the manuals don't have a RS 5000 for the Superduty front end, so I put the RSX's on the front and the RS 5000 in the rear, to save a few bucks. It's a great set up so far, I had the Procomps on my old truck and these shocks are much better.

I have some RS5000s from rancho, been pretty happy with them, cheap too. I was going to get the monroe reflex shocks, but they are way too much money.

I was interested to see the "same shock" comment. If this is indeed true it gives me a reference. I've run Monroe gas magnums for years on heavy 3/4's. When I went to get new ones for Clyde (to replace the OEMs @~45k) I got the big yellow magnums for the rear but they pitched the black tubed reflex for the front. In fact, he said they had no magnums for the front. I took the reflex but wish I'd held out for the gas magnums. I've got a high speed vibration now that wasn't there with the old shocks !!! The shocks were the only thing that changed.
