Hello Everyone,
I just found this site today and have alot of reading to do. I know how to use the search button and will be giving it a workout in the coming days. I just bought an 03 F250 SD 4x4 I love the truck but hate the seatbelt minder! (Fixing that right after this post). Anyway I just wanted to say HI and I look forward to sharing information with you all.
Rick
Welcome....You will find a wealth of info here and if you stay long enough you will see that most of us get along really well and are always giving one another crap. Hopefully you will not be too offended.
Ahhhh, the sound of no dinging if I just run into town and dont throw on the seatbelt. THANKS for the warm welcome. My truck has the baby of SD engines 5.4... I know, I know, I should have gotten the V-10 or diesel but I think this will suit my application just fine. Unfortuanately I dont need any help spending money on the truck. I have already had the windows tinted and added some Westin oval tube Nerf Steps and am currently looking into exhaust options. After that a new tonnaue cover and then I will be looking into doing the chip and air intake. As soon as the weather gets better I will take a few pics and try to figure out how to get them posted.
Thanks again
Rick.
I was starting to feel alone as their aren't many of us out there. Had my truck for about 5 weeks now and love it!! Gonna tow with it for the 1st time this weekend!! Here's what I'll be towing (if I can do this)... lol http://www.teamcrownline.com/albums/...13db5a86b82309
I don't post a lot but read every day. Lots of good info!! Hopefully will have pic's of the truck this weekend.
2003 F-250 CC with sport package Solid white. Just added Jason Extreme top.
Well, got to tow with it over the weekend. And although not far, man what a difference. The boat trailer and gear (read beer) is probably around 5,000lbs. I don't keep the boat far from the water but there are some major hills along with tight curves. I could not tell the thing was back there!! Handling the curves like I was in a sports car. I know it's not the PSD, but man I am impressed!!
Between some highway driving and some in town towing, avg. 11.6 mpg. Don't think that's too shabby? Does gassers mpg improve after the first couple thousand miles like the diesels? May be a dumb question but I don't know so had to ask.

There's no dumb questions, we all had to start somewhere.
Yes, your mileage should improve substantially once you've got 600-1000 miles on your truck. I know mine did. I saw an increase of about 3-4mpg on average after that initial period.
