Lightbulb Need Help Identifying Year

Hey guys, found an old and in very bad shape ford pickup, and I'm having trouble pinpointing the year. I have a couple pictures to maybe give an idea. Had been looking around the net for some clues to the differences in the early 40's fords but had no luck.

Hope maybe this helps a little, The truck is about a half hour drive from my farm sitting in a slough and I never thought to look for a serial number on it when I was there, so I might run back to there one of these days. If I do, where exactly on the truck is the serial number? Also maybe a link where I can Identify the number. Thanks!

it appears to be a 1941. vin is on left frame rail behind steer box, on top of rail. might be some parts worth having, but, if it's been in the drink for a while, i would not get my hopes too high.

Vxfarm, welcome to the site. It does appear to be a '41 one ton, as you could tell by the one ton badges, and '41 had the Ford logo on the dash. Is the truck in Canada, or near there? I have only seen that one ton badge on Canadian trucks.

Yes it is Canadian. It's sitting in a bit of a low spot that doesnt usually get much water other than spring, but this year everything flooded from rains so it's sitting in a bit higher of water, I'm still undecide weather I want to pull it out and look deeper into it. Are these trucks rare? Also is I noticed that the spare tire is on the passenger side, and all of the pictures I saw on google and stuff it's on the drivers side does that differ with older or newer fords? Thanks

The spare was mounted on the passenger side up until '42 when of was moved to driver's side. The one tons were never as popular as the 1/2 counterparts, but they do have a certain desirability to a restorer. Of course, the better the condition the more its worth. If its not a total rust bucket then there would be a market for it, just don't expect big bucks. These trucks have such a neat front end, like a combination of 1/2 pickup and COE.
