Hey guy's after getting my 4X4 fixed today my brother asked me a question that I don't know that answer to. He is wondering how much torque a 1999 7.3 liter powerstroke with manual tranny has in 4X4 low and the tranny set in low? I have a TS 6 position chip with the 140+ horsepower setting on it as will as a k&N cold air intake. this truck is just a F250 as well with stock gearing. Thank you!
Well 335 HP with 500ft/lbs of tq was STD I can't tell you what your tuner has claims of tq increaseses but rest assured you are putting at least 500ft/lbs to the ground if you can keep traction!

Back on topic though, all you have to do if you want a reasonably close estimate is multiply the net engine flywheel torque rating (in this case, about 500 ft. lbs.) and multiply it by the low gear ratio of the transmission (5.79:1), then by the low range ratio of (2.73:1), and finally by the final drive ratio (likely 3.73 in your case). Almost 25,000 ft. lbs.
That will give you axle torque. However, that is the maximum....of which you'll likely never see because you have to have the engine under full load at around 2400 RPM.
Just be aware that torque value is nearly meaningless and doesn't mean much of anything because you won't be getting a whole lot of work done at 4 MPH and your limited traction will really put a damper on being able to load the engine enough to make an actual 500 ft. lbs. at the flywheel.
By where my friend's house burned down earlier this year....
Yeah unfortunately, I did help the fire department and tried to help him get his vehicles moved away from his house. But 26 inches of snow on the ground does not help when you are trying to get things moved.
