2007 King Ranch Grill Insert

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has any idea what I should switch out my grill with on my 07 King Ranch. I hate the H bar grill style and I would like to replace it with the vertical bar style, but I'm not sure if its compatible. A lot of sites are telling me my truck needs to be honey comb style? Below is what I had in mind, will it fit?

I am only looking for the for insert, but would buy the whole thing if I had too.

I would recommend just waiting till this phase of your life passes. Aftermarket grills are like tatoo’s every one regrets them after the fact, and over time they just look cheesy. Additionaly it’s a sure sign to others that you are not secure with your truck, like a big red flag. You have a KR, you already are in an elite group. I’d hold off for a while then if you still feel the need to change the grill, consider counseling or medication as an early first step. It’s more important to maintain you leather properly than change the grill. I’ve seen many a King Ranch owner neglect there interior and it is a sad sight. As an ’08 KR owner myself I have offered some impromptu parking lot citations for improper interior care. If I’m lucky enough to see the owner approach the vehicle I just let them off with a verbal warning.

i have a 2004 lariat with the stock(for lariats) honeycomb grill, and i think it looks great. i have to agree with doofuss, the billet grill inserts are just a cheap fad that everyone is putting on their trucks. kind of like sticking those fake air intake or vent plastic chrome pieces all over the side of your car that you buy at walmart.(really? those are supposed to be a cool auto accessory?)

i used to have one on my 02 f150 when i was in high school and thought i was da bomb. i look back now and think it was kind of pointless. it does beat the stock f150 grill, but if i were you, i would try to be original, get a custom grill or even better, they make ford raptor grilles for our 2004-2008 gen. trucks, the letters FORD across the front grill adds alot of style, and infuses the old grandpa 60-70' model f150s with todays trucks

although i will say, if you are like me when i was younger, when i got my mind set on doing something or buying a thing i really wanted, well by god i was bound and determined to get it. so if your hearts set on getting a billet grille, go ahead, i guess there are worse things to buy

I would recommend Trex brand billets. That's the brand I went with when I had to replace mine due to chipping. - http://www.trexbillet.com/

I was confused about the same thing you were. I gave them a call and they told me exactly what I needed. The guy was very knowledgeable. I ended up going with an insert, which replaced the entire grille. The only thing that was kept was the chrome border/ring. I'm very happy with it too. The quality is great and it looks great too. Installation was a little difficult, but nothing terrible.

So I highly suggest you call them and they'll tell you exactly what you need. Consider ordering from them as well. Great products and service.

Here are some before and afters:

I had the honeycomb grill on mine. Of course its an XLT and far beneath the King Ranch. I purchased a Roush grill but the chrome has not held up well. Just last week I bought the grill from a Harley Davidson truck. I love it. I'll post some pics after the storm passes. Whatever you do stay away feom the cheesey overlays!

Thanks to all for the advice...I will sit and ponder it for a while...I do agree with all the comments, and if it is just a phase, I will always keep my original grill when and if it passes...I love your grill Gundown64, but I really wanted the Ford Emblem in my grill, but that may not be possible I guess. Thanks again. Keep the pics and post coming.

You can get ones just like mine, both vertical and horizontal with the emblem insert. I just chose to not have the emblem on mine.

Not sure. I'm not even sure if they sell them directly. I bought mine off AutoAnything.com. They had the lowest price around and I almost guarantee that they ship to Canada. Plus, they have a 10% off deal going right now.

Yea, I called Trex for confirmation of what product to get them simply ordered that same one on AutoAnything. I'm sure AutoAnything could give you an answer just as easily though.
