So I have an auto meter z-series pyrometer, if I bring the egt's up slow there is no issue, if I stomp on it the needle flutters until the egt's even out, it comes down nice and smooth though. Has anybody else had these issues? I'm guessing my thermocouple s%^t the bed on me. Any thoughts?

 

Sounds like your thermo has the start of a hairline crack in it and causing the bad readings.

 

Well I guess it's time to call auto meter for a replacement, maybe they will warranty it.
