7.3 no start when hot
I noticed that starting was taking longer and longer, one day I went to start the truck and everything was dead, batteries completely drained. I bought new batteries, starter slowly cranked, so I bought a new starter. Now the starter spun quickly, but still wouldn't start. I figured I drained the batteries with there bad starter, so I jumped the truck with my car and it fired right up.
The next day I drive it to my job, go to start it a few hours later and...nothing. Every morning it will start fine, it's only when hot it won't start. I'm using Delvac oil.
I've replaced the CPS, batteries again, alternator tested good, new starter, new o-rings on the IPR.
If the truck sits a few days the batteries also drain to nothing, none of this ever happened until the one day everything was dead.
Any ideas? Thanks guys!
It's just been my experience that you'll get the best response to these issues in this forum as opposed to the SD forum since it's engine specific. These folks are great at problem solving.
