Stage 1 vs Stock Injectors

Will the Stage 1 injectors sound different then stock? I seem to hear a difference between the two.

Yes stage 1 will be louder than stock as they are a single shot design and do not pilot inject.

Yes they are a little louder. BTW, You don't list any tuning in your signature, did you get tuned for the single shots?

Jim and Al are correct the only other thing that you may notice with SS is the idle seems a tad bit rougher almost a slight "lope" to it.

Hmmmm.

My singles (in each truck) are quieter than the splits that I've had.....and just as smooth at an idle.

Guess it helps to know the guy doing the tuning.

Whew, I thought something was wrong, yes, that was my first thought, sounds like it has a beefie cam. I have no tunes yet, I just put the injectors in this weekend. I was planning on mods shortly as soon as I recover from this weekends expenses. I can't tune anything without a tuner, right?
I also noticed like a touchy gas pedal, the truck slightly jerks when letting off the pedal.............

The cam loop you are having is because you went split shot injectors to single shot...you need tuning to make it right...with proper tuning it will not act like a big block cam and shouldn't....at least get a hold of DP tuner and have them flash your pcm....

Yep. Excessive Pulse width at low load/RPM.

Also, your SOI (Start of Injection, also known as "timing") is too advanced compared to what split-shot tuning is commanding. Not a good idea to be driving it like that.

I wish I would have known the PCM needed tuned, I was not told ahead of time. Now I'm trying to decide whether to flash the PCM or get custom tunes.

Sorry Jim, I was referring to the OP, since he had just put SS injectors in and I didn't see any tuning.

OP: A modified stock PCM flash would get you by, ultimately it's up to you and your budget as far as getting a chip or not, most will sell a chip with a modified stock chip and alone if you did not want to purchase other tunes at this time. $80 vs probably $200 is the cheapest chip you could get by with.

AHHHHHHHH...

STOP listening to some of the people on this thread...

Stick your chip into your PCM and drive!

Your PCM DOES NOT NEED TO BE FLASHED. IT DOES NOT NEED ANYTHING BUT YOUR CHIP INSTALLED ON IT!!!

Holy shikys...
