I'll be at 355,000 tomorrow on a trip to North Carolina. I celebrated early today and bought a new set of tires and got an alignment. Still getting 12 to 13 on the highway and burns the 1/2 quart of oil it always has on 5000 mile oil change intervals. I did have the drivers seat recovered because it had turned into a pancake but what can you expect after my tail has been sitting there that long.
I know LOTS of diesels that never make it much past 100k, especially the 6 leakers, but have seen more than you'd think of Ford gassers, 5.4's and 6.8's, that seem to go forever. I have 92k on my '08 and it feels like a new one. I think another 100k will be easy.
Please do tell us, do you have any mods on this truck. What brand of oil and type just for ref. what does the maintence schedule look like. DO you haul alot or run empty? An if you do haul what would you say the average size load would be. This info would be nice to know out of reference. Also have you put all these miles yourself?
Congradulations 05v10,
I'm just a little behind you, turned 347K this week on my 99 F350, DRW, 4x4. I have pulled 35' 5'r at least 75K. I have used various brands of oil, but alway 5w20 changed every 3K. These trucks are great.
I can only hope to have mine last that long. Nice job and I'm also interested in how you've done it and how you've used it. I just noticed your other post of 340,000. Man 15,000 miles in 3 months? shhhhuuuu----e.!
