3k rpm idi

I took a trip to vermont, was in hilly windham, population 310. Going up a hill 1100 rpm keept pushing the pedal nothing... So i jammed it to the floor the e4od downshifted twice, burned tires ( could smell them for over a mile). Man does the idi sound so sweet at 3k rpm. Hope the locals didn't mind lol, probably could her it for a mile or two, one car on the road when i drove through it. None the less my trip mpg was 19.5, sweet.

fyi,
your TPS probably needs to be adjusted.sounds like its hanging on to the top gears too long, and then by the time she does downshift, she's doing so with great force, which is hard on the trans over time.having it adjusted correctly you'll notice it kick down much sooner and not be so mushy on the hills,to top it off, when it can rev up a bit at the bottom of the hill(downshifting into direct drive/aka-3rd gear),you'll notice it climb them much, much faster and easier too.iv got mine to hold slightly high for fuel economy, but yours sounds well overboard.
nice fuel economy.i hope to get there someday with my setup driving 45 mph........i wont give up.

i just checked out the truck in your garage.
i had an old rusty green '85 f150,and i sanded down the rust a bit,and sprayed it black with just spray bombs.what a world of difference,on the cheap.just had to touch it up every once a while.try it out.you'll be surprised if you just take your time doing a lot of thin coats throughout the day.

How do you adjust it? It does seem to hold a bit on the gears. *edit* i have to patch a hole in the drivers door but i was gonna paint all the rust with some red oxide after knocking it off with the wire wheel, then paint white over it. It's a great truck just ugly. I wasn't too worried about the trans its got a huge external transcooler, and the radiator interchanger is bypassed. It's been rebuilt before at 170,000.
