SCT TUNER .....??

finally got the files uploaded and put on the truck.....WOW................WOW
thats just crazy the difference, as most of you know i have been hesitant to do it cause i dont want to blow the heads, but set on unlimited it is very tempting......the truck is now running a higher temp under heavy acceleration EGT was abt 800 at the highest but now its abt 1000 under pressure....the boost when i get on it is hitting the 35psi peg..is that too high?? i get on it but try to get out of it before it gets thats high but it has still gotten there several times.....

Do you already have ARP studs? If not, you will be putting them on order this week.....

White smoke=too late. Sounds like ur having a blast with it but it's better to stud it before it blows!

There have been some guys who did that. Just pull a bolt and drop a stud back in, one at a time. It's really not recommended though.

Its going to be hard for you to do this, but..... My advice is put it back to stock and start looking into the BulletProof kit and some ARP studs. If not things will deteriorate quickly for you.

Definitely need studs for that high of boost. What you can do instead (and this is what I plan on doing since I don't have 3 grand for studs) is get a custom tune from Matt at gearhead automotive performance. He has a tune called the SRL that is safe for the stock head bolts. From what I understand it only increases fuel and not boost so you really have to watch your EGT's but otherwise I hear its a great tune.

well thats who i ordered my tuner and tunes from.....
it has the unlimited, 8k, srl
he asked me what i had done to the truck mod wise and i told him he said that this is set for my truck, i remember because i questioned him abt the head studs.....so now i am not sure what is safe to run

Even with the SLR tune I would still take it easy. The stock head bolts just cant handle anything more than stock. Mine was stock when they blew. It was due to the oil cooler, Egr cooler yada, yada, yada.....

If I remember right 28psi is as high as you ever want. My truck won't break 23 psi. And I really have to work on the last 3-4 psi too. Even missing 4-5 psi my truck can light up my tires if I let it. At wot unloaded I can hit 1250 egts without pushing it. And I have a full 4"turbo back.
