Explorer engine swap?
My 2001 4.0 DOHC is dead - unfixable. Looking to swap it out with a 2000 4.0 OHV. Mechanic says it's a clean exchange regarding mounting, accessories, etc. Looking for input from the group please. Thanks!

I think you will be sadly disappointed in the power the OHV doesn't make compared to the SOHC. Buy a late Mustang 4.0L SOHC, strip it to the long block, put your accessories on it and be happy again!
