I work at a shop where we install lift kits.We are doing our first 2011 F150 lift in Monday. If we disconnect the battery should we be safe as far as the electric power steering system is concerned? Has any one done this and been ok.. Btw the Kit is a 6" BDS kit.
Not to sound like an aZZ but didn't the kit come with instructions? My first thought would be to make a call to BDS, with the 2011 only being out for a short time with the upgrades it has over the '10 not a whole lot of guys here have lifted them that I have seen.
It took us about 8 hours to install the kit on a hoist,but we do a lot of them.The customer had to take the truck to the dealer to take care of a dash light after the install,(don't know what or if they charged him) but they told him he had voided his warranty on the truck.
