I could use some suggestions concerning the installation of a CB in a 2001 4-door Explorer. I have no problems with the wiring, but my concern is the placement of the unit itself. The unit is about 2" X 5.5". Previously I had a 91 Navajo and it fit neatly between the driver's seat and the console. The new truck has a considerably larger console.
If I can help it, I don't want to drill into the plastic dash above my right knee. The parking brake is above the left knee. If you have any ideas, or personal experience please respond via email to: Sundude_99(No Email Addresses In Posts!)
Thanks,
John
I don't know which console you have - whether it goes to the dash or not, but this gives you an idea anyway. I cut out part of the shelf, and slid the radio through it, then wired through the console... Perfect fit in regards to the width of the radio. I do not remember the measurements on mine, but it is a Cobra25...
