I finally broke down and bought a new Cat for my 88 F250 w/351 Windsor. Now maybe my truck can get out of it's own way.
I had to drop the front pipes and break the cat away from the front on my bench, in the process I broke off the (very rusty) hanger on the front pipe flange (where it connects to the cat)
Any idea if I can get this part seperate from the front pipe? Or any ideas on a workaround hanger, I can't see how the standard universal hanger options could work.
My dad took some gas tank strapping he got from autozone and welde it to the pipe. Then he took a self driller/tapper screw and a piece of soft rubber and drilled it into the cab. I don't know if this'll work for you, but it works for him and don't make much noise.
