My dad just bought an 05' crewcab fX4 automatic trans with 70K miles. I drove it this weekend and could feel something like a thump/clunk/jolt/bump? when just starting from a complete stop and when coming to a complete stop.
There were 2 separate bumps at both start and stop. just as you start to accelerate you could fell a bump-bump and then right as you came to a complete stop they were there again bump-bump.
Loose spare tire under the bed? Slip joint on the drive line dry?
I'll have him check those things...
but it didnt sound/seem like the slip joint. there was really no noise associated with the bumps....it wasnt the same as the clunk i had in mine when the slip joint needed attention.
