I have a 94 f150 that I want to flush the rear diff on and was wondering what gear oil to use. I am pretty sure I have the limited slip rear end so can I used 80-90 or do I need something lighter?
You will need something like 85W90 gear lube. If you do indeed have a LSD (check your door sticker axle code) you will also need a LSD additive unless you get the lube with it already mixed.
There's also a lot of us that switched over to 75w90 and 75w140 and if you want the best of both 75w90 with 20% Syn stabilized at least with Lucas but is there even another brand of lube on the market
Sounds good. Would a 75w90 be any better? I know a slightly lighter weight will give me less resistance, especially in the colder months, which is better for fuel mileage.
It's a limited slip 3.55 ya I was gonna go with 75w140 in the rear but since I live in cold climate I called Lucas and they said 75w90 with the stabalizer is a happy medium and they said but I'd call and double check there Syn gear lubes already have friction modifier
