Look in Ford parts catalog pics of the integral P/S boxes (first used in 1965 Galaxie/LTD's). You won't see any bearings on the sector shaft, cuz there weren't any.

I refer to this fiasco as a 'built-in" flaw because FoMoCo could have installed these bearing, but chose not to. The same two seals kits (sector and input shafts) were used for decades and are longtime "best sellers."

If you get one you will like it. I have had mine for a few years and it was well worth the investment. Look at their website for info on what they do and remember you will have to send your core back.

Well my job is taking me to Mexico, so I may pull it off before I leave and have it ready to ship. Or have a friend of mine take it off when you guys are ready to do the deal and have him ship it up there. it would be cool to have mine rebuilt and returned to me, so I can say that almost everything is factory... Just a thought.

Doc.

one more and the group buy order will be placed.

The way it will work is i will call Red Head and give them a list of the names and trucks that are associated with the names. That way when they place the order you will get the discount and it will come to your address and go on your credit card.

...I hope to place the order by mid week at the latest. hope this works for everyone.

Out of curosity how well does the red head improve steering with a big lift and big tires? My steering flat out sucks!! I plan to step up to 38x15.5-20 for my next tires and Ive got a feeling thats not gonna help my situation. I cant afford to buy one now... Wish I could just want to know

. i learned the hard way that get your steerying and stability stuff done first before you jaz up the other stuff. they rebuild the boxes with fixes that improve them beyond what a new ford box comes with. i ran my black truck off the road becuase the steering was so sloppy even with dual stabilizers...

Great deal on a steering box. If I didn't have mine all ported already I would be in as well.

You need to consider crossover steering (high steer knuckle) and all your problems will go away. The steering box probably won't do a dang thing to help you out. It is all about the steering geometry.
