Hey,
Looking into some performance parts. What i have already is a edge juice with atitude(may get a sct tuner instead??), Air intake, intake manifold.
Looking into getting a EGR delete and a full exhaust. Any suggestions for a exhaust, i want something with dual exit. I also plan to get a exhaust brake for when i tow. Then what should i be looking into?
I would think so. I'm still stock and just reading up on it myself. Lots of info in magazines. 50 HP would be noticeable, the 175's is what I'm thinking. Might be a little more with a good tune.
Just kidding, I've read a couple of threads here on FTE about modding the factory injectors and I work with a guy who's playing with a 6.4 and bought a set from Industrial Injection. Quite a few retailers stock them also. He was happy with them. Also Full Force Diesel.
Take off the edge and put on an SCT. SCT with custom tunes from innovative, quick tricks, or gear head will be very good. And they can program the turbo to act like an exhaust brake.
silverline, diamond eye, mbrp, they are all good.
Powermax turbo and stock injectors-175cc will be good for towing, stock inj being best. How much do you tow?
Also you can get 500 rwhp out of 155 injectors. Just ask Tex he's puts down 508. I would go any bigger than 175's if you tow any. 175's and a powermax will probably get you around the 550 mark when tuned right.
Also as already stated I would throw that edge in the trash. I wouldn't even give that thing to my biggest foe. And while your at it go back to the stock air intake. The stock one will flow as much, if not more, than anything on the market. Plus filter way way more dirt. AM intakes have been known to cause problems such as dusting the turbo.
I have read all that stuff on the stock air intake, but for me its way more of a hassle to take that filter out, for me its easier just to clean the filter more. Also with the edge i was told it kills our trannies, as of right now i love it, but do plan on getting the sct, i tow 15000 lbs.
Innovative or gearhead are tunes that people run around here. With the stock air filter they are very easy to remove when done right. Plus they will last like 80,000 miles before change. It's a lot less hassle then cleaning a after market all the time.
