I have always wanted a diesel superduty and today I drove a 99 f-250 2wd ext. cab long bed psd, auto. Mileage...ready for this 26K!!! It looks absolutely immaculate on the inside and I was amazed at the power it had. I truely don't need a truck like this but with no more miles than I put on my personal vehicle due to company vehicle, it would likely last me forever! The price is 16,500. He is offering me 5K for my expy on trade. It would be tough to swing another payment nowand I lose alot of room but I am sure I will never find a deal like this again. Just looking for opinions. Thanks in advance.
That truck is overpriced. Most banks loan based on NADA value, which places that truck at around $12,800 in your area. Max NADA is also a bit ridiculous as well, so subtract a bit from that. I would figure that that truck should be priced between $9K and $10K. $5K is inline with what your Expedition is worth if in good condition, but unless you trade and put enough cash down to make up the difference (~$6,500) you won't be able to get financing, if you still could with a 1999 model. The seller needs to come off of that price.
I agree that the price sounds high...I walked away from the same truck with 90,000 miles that sold for $9,000.00 (W/fresh transmission), This being said, people seem to pay crazy money for the 7.3's!!
Financing might be an issue as stated before, If it's a dealer, the financing shouldn't be as much of a problem, Although they may crank up the interest rate.
Dang, I thought I found the lowest mile 99.5... got mine July 2010 with 31,114, 350, lariat,cc,drw,4x4,7.3, auto...mint....15k cash, so I'd agree that price is a bit high, but good luck
Well, for comparison.....I just bought a super clean 02 F350 Crew Cab Lariat V10 2wd, lifted on 33's with Welds, bags etc....only 29000 miles on it. I paid $16500. The one you found is a 7.3 so that's a plus but its a Super Cab. If its super clean I would think its worth around 14500 to 15000 with that low of milage. I looked at a lot of 7.3 trucks with 120000 miles and not near ad clean as the one I found for crazy money. To me finding a super clean low milage truck is worth paying a grand or so more.....a nice truck is hard to find.
Thanks for all the inputs guys, I thought it was a bit high and he is a dealer that I have bought from 2 times before with no problems. He really wants to keep it local for his advertising but he says he has other dealers chomping at the bit to get this truck and resell it for as high as 20K!! I know I will never find a truck like this again (most likely) so I am still mulling it over. The financing won't be a problem according to him since it has such low miles. I will update when the decision is final...Lol.

This is when I tell the salesman off and walk out. I'm sure he has a unicorn pissing diesel in the shop, too. If he could unload it for 20k, he's a business man and would do it in a heartbeat, advertising or not.
Maybe it is not that out of line, I just found a 99 supercab w a v-10 and 4wd and 78K for 14,900!! I really would like a crewcab but I know the odds are against finding the same condition truck with a CC. Decisions, Decisions. The KBB shows right at 15K nada is 13K.

He's just filling you full of a load of crap to get you to buy it because he knows he is asking too much for it. He wants to make you think the truck will be gone tomorrow so you buy it right now. He's a car dealer, if he really had someone willing to buy it for what he is asking , it would already be gone.
I paid less for my 03 Ferd and its 4x4 ......just saying.
Personally I would not pay that.
True.............But I could drive back to Michigan with a hand full of cash and own a block for next to nothing. Hard times equal good deals and Michigan has been hit hard.
