Their 1997 E350 Class "C" has the rearmost top and bottom exhaust manifold studs on the passenger side broken off. There is a slight bit of soot on the gasket but no fumes getting into the cab. So my questions are:
1) Can this be left indefinitely until it gets worse?
2) Can I just pull the manifold and replace the gasket and broken studs with out replacing the manifold or other studs?
The only wisdom I can share is maybe do a seach for "exhaust studs" in this forum------should be a lot to read about there. I did a quick search myself and recall a few threads with photos and learned experience about this somewhat common problem on the V-10's.
