Hey i have a 69 ford and the gas tank sits right behind the seat. I was woundering if anyone has ever put a sub in a truck like this. I dont really have a clue where I could put it. Any help appreciated.
ok, well i would consider a bass tube from bazooka. doesnt sound like u would want a lot of bass so this might fit the job. also J.C. Whit sells under the seat 8" sub boxes, might wanna check them out but im not sure how much space u have underneath the seat. can also remount the gas tank to under the bed but i dont think u wanna try that route.
You can make a custom sub enclosure to fit basically any location. Its the box volume that matters, and the sub you purchase will tell you what volume it requires. You can get the volume for your box with a simple formula
Box Volume = (height" x width" x depth") / 1728 cubic in per cu ft
Now your saying its near your gas tank. Be careful as youll have anywhere from 200-1000 watts of power (or more) going to a sub near that gas tank, might want to put the sub under the seat on the opposite side of teh truck from the gas tank, can never be to cautions with gas and electricity.
