Its a heat activated clutch.. When it kicks in, it will sound like there is a airplane under your hood... I'd say u need a new one..

Sorry but some people will do anything they read on the Internet especially if it is their threads. I just don't see why peoPle have to recommend things that aren't smart or unsafe.

Even though I am up for taking warning labels off of everything and letting life run it's course

Kind of like the thread another a mustang I read awhile back. He was doing an oil change and someone told him to leave the drain plug out and flush the motor for 5 minutes with water while it was running. As long as it didn't get over idle they told him he'd be okay.

Three hours later he finishes with it and now says the motor wouldn't start or it was knocking real bad, one of the two. Wish I could find that thread. It was a laugh for sure. Just goes to show how literal they take what they read on the Internet...

Ive never listened to Kjett. His suggestions are always incorrect, sarcastic and literally drip with homosexual undertones. I may be wrong but based off his posts Ive formed the opinion hes a fat balding male around 40 and is married to a woman who is madly in love with a guy in South Carolina.

Truly tragic.

IDK Karl, I can see where he is coming from, I didn't know my 94 had a heat issue untell I took it into the mud, than it would heat up like crazy..

And all due to the clutch fan non the less..

Fatdan460 I'm truly sorry you had to go through that to see that guy is an idiot with nothing better to do than to give out useless information. Hope everythings healing up okay

As for basic heating And cooling.... Maybe I do have a problem. But it's strictly a mud truck and have no use being on the street so I was on the OFFROAD section of the forum seeking advice on what people did for a thermostat/restricter and a cooling fan for the mud. If I am in the wrong section for that then be my guest, move my thread.

If its strictly a mud truck the pull the fan and bolt on a Lincoln MkvIII fan. It will out pull every aftermarket fan out there and can be had for around $40-50 at any junk yard.

I would keep the thermostat but drill some (4 or so) 1/8" holes around the flange.
