kind of a newbie here. anyone know why my 68 f100 is building fuel tank pressure? i had a 70 but it didn't do it that i can remember. ANY info is appreciated.
Could be as simple as the gas cap. It's hotter than the devil about everywhere right now. Verify if pressure or vacuum. Never been entirely clear on the vented gas caps if they vented both ways or not.
jcasteel, I agree the heat is doing it. You can pull your hair out trying to stop it or I can share how to deal with it.
Don't fill the truck up if you are not going to drive out about 4-5 gallons, always park the truck drivers side high. You can drive the lr up on the curb to get it higher if you are in a parking lot.
I first saw this summer event in the early 60s when gas was pouring out on the ground of the farm truck. AFAIK, I haven't lost a drop with these 100º + temps that we have had this summer in NC.
