my 86 Bronco has a wiper problem.... I think it is in the relay box under the dash.... I hear a buzzing sound and can see this relay trying to work, but I have no action on my wipers....it also seems like the box is one unit... I cannot see where any particular relay unplugs or disconnects...please help....I am not a mechanic...I need to isolate the problem so I can get them fixed....thanks...btw...it does have intermitent wipers (XLT)

I would check the motor first. If you can hear a buzzing, it most likely the motor rather than the relay. Relays will usually fry the coil and just quit of there is a short or too much resistance.
You can try disengaging the wipers from the motor and see if it will move without the drag of the wipers on it. I had this happen on my 92. Turned out that one of the field magnets inside the motor had come loose from the casing and was dragging on the armature. The magnet had these pretty little grooves in it from the armature dragging across it. It finally stalling the motor completely and burned a winding. If thsi has happened, don't bother to try and fix the motor. It can be done but way too time consuming to be worth the effort.
