i cant start my own thread yet. but the code is with koeo. prior to that i had 232 and 31 the 31 i took care of that....the 3 minutes thing is after i popped the new tps and iac on it ...this morning it was at 1500 before the green vac line test and after back to 3200. today i plan on removing upper manifold and replacing the gasket.
All I can say is it has to be getting air someplace. With the IAC disconnected it should die or close to it.
Is your EGR pipe to the intake broken?
Try disconnecting the green vacuum line to the EGR valve and see if it still does it.
thanks to both you guys after i take the upper manifold of and replace the gasket ill let you guys know what ive found out and ill run codes again i hope i get this working right today before the work week. any tips on taking off that manifold. anything to be carefull of
You will need a 1/4" drive socket set extension with a T40 taped on it from a kitchen tool kit to get the center bolt out. Then you can use a 3/8" ratchet and adapter to turn it.
I would also disconnect all the vacuum hose from the upper intake and plug the all of the tree and ports there before pulling the intake and start the engine and see what happens.

ok i will try that and good info on that part i just had to stop because the head on my socket was to big to fit.but what would plugin those vac line do? i would have to reassemble a couple things first . to get it back startable not long after my last post i went at it...also when i bought the truck the upper manifold was loose so it woulndnt be a bad ideal to go ahead and replace that gasket. and maybe pop some valve gaskets on there to. weather is good today in st.louis so ill be under the hood for some time today and thanks.
I was just trying to element some vacuum leaks before you started on the intake but it sounds like you have a gasket problem anyway so go ahead and pull the intake.

Ok upper manifold is off found out the egr pipe was shot (i guess i found my exhaust leak) and the pcv was shot as well. i guessing with that pipe and pcv both broke and possibly letting air in maybe my problem would go away also egr gasket was beat to *****.. please let me know what you think.
Sounds like the IAC Valve was not opening.
It should run with all the vacuum lines off and there sources plugged except maybe the PCV valve.
ive replaced the iac a few times but before i did i noticed that the iac opens. i honestly thought to much because when it open the idle goes up a bit more.....but im back with the egr line and pcv the autopart store did not sell the pipe so had to go to the salvage yard and take one .... going to rebuild engine now hopefully this will fix it.
ok everything is done...when i started the truck it idled at 700 after 19 seconds (i counted lol) it went to 3200. but i didnt notice it on the engine maybe broken gauge..im going to try it again...im not to mad thou i got my exhaust leak fix replaced the upper gasket and put the new pcv in...also a new distributor cap and rotor. im done for today....thanks guys ill let you know if its the gauge now or something else....
