I got the plastic kind that slip over the regular electric painted mirrors, and they work good except they scratch the painted mirror parts. If you end up with plastic slip on mirrors you might have to pad the painted parts with thin foam wrapping stuff.
I got a pair on ebay for my fathers 2000 expedition for 15 bucks plus shipping....21 bucks in all.......they were 30 each in the camper store.....Look there first!!!
I trhink that my first question would be what mirrors are on the truck now.?? I you have the Ford Towing mirrors then the smaller version that bduke was talking about would be great. If you have the kiddie mirrors then I think that I would go with a full replacement. I have the big towing mirrors (factory) and I love them. Of all of the options that I picked this was probably one of the best. Well the deisel was first. but you know what I mean.
I bought a set of extension mirrors made by Ford for my 01 SuperCrew. I bought them at the local dealership for about 70 bucks. They work OK and I am able to see alot more road with them. They come with internal padding so your mirrors are not scratched. They fit over your existing mirrors.
The cons are they plastic and they do vibrate a bit.
