No. You will need longer shocks for that kind of lift. You can get by with OEM length shocks with just a leveling kit on the front, but not if you are going to lift it 4".
if changing shocks, and a possible lift in the future, will the rs5000 work as stk height and with the lift?
RS5000 is a bad choice for an SD, regardless of lift. They are too light for such a heavy truck. Unless you just cruise highways. If you like Rancho, step up to the RS9000 series.
Save up for Bilstien 5100's they work fantastic on SD's and no questions lifetime gaurantee! A little more coin but you only pay once!

I disagree with this statement. I installed Rancho RS5000s on mine and I have no problems, and I do go off road frequently. The Rancho RS5000s are better than OEM shocks or OEM replacement shocks like the Monroe Gas-Magnum which I had on my last SD, which by the way were fine as well.
Rancho told me the OEM FX4 shocks are spec'd similarly to the RS5000's. Those did not work for me. I'm very happy with upgrade to the RS9000's and I also added their dual steering stabilizer kit.
