I work out of the back of my Expy
the lights do eventually shut off, after maybe an hour
I either want to put an interrupt switch on input to the interior light relay
the diagram I have doesn't give me any hints as to what color that wire would be?
or change the length of the timer
I understand that on an 03 the dimmer will disable this "feature", are the parts interchangeable?
I work out of my Expy too. Now I use the hook on a bungie cord to push in the latch of whatever door I want open. I had ran down the battery too many times, but too busy to find the time delay relay for interior lights. If we can just replace it with a relay for the window delay, which is maybe a 5 min. delay instead of 45 min......... Anyone know if we can just swap the relay with a much shorter delay version?
That would have to count as a runner batted in to win the game in the top of the 9th!
Sorry Alloro but that answer was not one of the options. I'm sure it is right coming from you, but %&#$ hard to think of a way around that. What about adding your own time delay relay to the interior lighting circut?
I'd still love to limit the amount of time I shed light on the subject. As opposed to killing the circut. I recall using adjustable time delay relays on commercial hvac units in a previous life. Those were heavy duty & pricey relays, but there has to be a cheaper one that is sufficient for a 12v lighting circut that is fused at what... 20 amps?
There are 12 volt bulbs and flourescent lamps available at most RV shops/stores that will just plug into the cigar lighters or power ports in your truck.
That might be an easier and less expensive option for you.

a connector map [or how ever it's described in fordspeak] would shed some light
Here's the relay diagram for a 2000, other years are the same or similar. Some items are not shown, such as the lamps in the headliner, the rear cargo area, and the running boards. That's what those A, J, & B arrows run off to.
kind of need to see pg 13-21
could install a switch or timer
on 402 og/lg
I'm not clear
it looks like c245 [og/lg] is connected to the main light switch
which it would be on a 03?
an 03 has the ability to kill all the interior/courtesy lights...

Page 13-21 isn't going to show you anything except the full headlight switch diagram. Circuit 402 simply creates a ground to manually energize the interior light relay coil by rotating the dash dimmer switch. Messing with 402 will give you an alternate method to turn the lights on but not off.
Because of the ability to disable the interior lights, the relay diagram for an 03 isn't going to match this diagram.
The door switches all run to the GEM, if any send a signal to the GEM that their door is open, the GEM then supplies a ground to both the battery saver (GEM pin 1) and interior lighting relays (GEM pin 15) to energize them. After 40 minutes of a continuous open door, the GEM stops supplying a ground to the battery saver relay and the lights go out.
Not all of the GEM pins are shown, only the ones that are pertinent to the operation of this drawing.
