And here is what happens when you are overloaded.
Truck weighs about 6500, trailer about 5000 and tractor 11,000. So 22,500 and the trailer has brakes on all 3 axles. The truck could not control the load
This was at 40mph
Looks to me that he was going to fast to negotiate that curve and either the trailer brakes failed or didn't work properly. But thanks for the advice Diesel-Brad its greatly appreicated!!! Not because of the trailer weight but because I had my truck weighed yesterday with all the gear (myself, wife, winch, generator, dog and tool box)in it and it weighed in at 7800# so I have decided to go with a lighter 5th wheel....Wife not happy she was dead set on the other one!!!
Thanks guys for all the input After all your comments I decide to upgrade and brought a 05 F350 Lariat dully now the 5th wheel will have to wait a little longer. Now I have another problem the truck I brought has 4 aux switches on the dash. I decided to use one of these switches for my winch. Their is nothing in the owners manual about these switches and I have called 2 different Ford dealers and neither know anything about these switches I looked under the dash and these switches have wires coming from them but I cannot find the other end to hook them up. Any help will be appreciated!!
Look for a bundle of wires above the driver side kick panel and the passthrough wires come out of the firewall near the brake booster. Google upfitter switches and you'll get all the info you need.

Thanks great help...Unfortunately I have broke my leg and can not go look right now but I do remember seeing 3 wires with no ends close to the brake booster I believe they were white black and blue is this them???
Yes exactly those are the wires. I think there is a red there also. Also 2 switches are rated for either 15 or 20 amps and the other two are 20 or 30. Select the right one based on demands of the winch. sorry about the leg and congrats on the purchase!
