I know this question keeps getting asked, but I need some help deciding on what type of exhaust to put on my '01 SuperCrew F150 5.4L. I have read and heard everything from Gibson, Flowmaster, Borla, and even straight pipe it! What I am looking for is a deep aggressive thunder outside, but not that annoying inside (want to hear it, but not like Nascar). I also do not want to lose any torque, if anything NEED more! So far this truck is stock minus a K&N air filter. If you know of something else that would help me get what I want, please post it. I really do not want to go as far as replacing headers, but cat, or cat back, chips, etc... I'd appreciate any constructive input.
i would go with no mufflers(leave cats on) and big tips, either 4"X24" or 3.5"X22" straight out the back. i have heard it on a 4.6 F150 and it sounded really good and it would sound better on urs. also it is inexpensive
Do the tips really do anything other than looks? Also, I wanted to aim both ends out the left side behind the passenger rear tire (like the Harley F150s). How will this effect the sound?
