Well with all this heat it is time to figure out my air conditioner.... when first turned on it works great, and sometimes will work for a while, but eventually it quits blowing cold and it gets humid in the truck, I checked charge with one of those cheapo deals that come w a can of charge, and it checks out good, I replaced my low pressure switch and still the same any one have a suggestion?
The clutch does disengage, however I forgot to add if I shut it off after it quits blowing cold for say 2-3 minutes then it will work again for a short period of time.... my pressure I believe was around 30-35 according to the cheapo gauge...
The only concern is after you do the mod, it will eventually wear down into the mounting studs and spark. I did the mod 2 years ago, two weeks ago, mine finally ran out of surface area and started to slip and spark a touch. Awesome mod, buys 2 years more time before you have to replace the clutch assembly, assembly was 120 through my local napa guy, no big deal. Highly recomend doing the reshim, and being as i bought mine used, it might have been the second reshim, I do not know.
