Got the new oil dipstick adapter for the oil pan. Installed the oil pan. Picked up the heads from machine shop today. I think I finally have all the parts to put it back together. Just need the time.
Did you buy a new cam from ford? Just wondering if maybe you tried one of Matts stage 1 cams. Please keep posting and show some pictures if possible. We always love pictures. Chet

I took Ag Engineering on college and have been at a farm machinery/light construction dealership for over 12 yrs. I haven't been rebuilding engines there. But I understand the basics with doing so.
My shop at home is 30'x60'. The amount of room I'm using to do the rebuild is about the size of a 2 stall garage. If I remember correctly Ziggy built his motor in a small garage and installed it outside with a tractor and loader. So it doesn't matter how much room you have.
I'll keep posting as work continues.
The fan is still on the water pump from when I pulled the motor. Not sure if it will be in the way to reassemble the rest of the engine, if it is I'll be the first to know.
I have read a couple different ways of installing the rear crank seal. Not sure what everyone has done with good luck other than using the expensive install tools.

let me know how you go with this. Im in the same boat. The tool is not an option here in AUS. No one here hires em out. Im keen to see what you do. Failing that I will have to make something up.
Confused, I thought the seal bolted on and was sealed with grey motorcraft sealant. If your referring to the wear sleave that goes over the crank, we just used a small amount heat to swell the ring and it slipped right over it. Once cooled it was tight. Probably is a better way but it's what I had! What is the proper way?
