Thanks Jim!

I had neal take measurements for me.
didn't realize the 47 had a bit different shift throws than the 42 though.
So. My % might be a little off.
I can just put my elbow on the arm wrest and shift with my wrist with the shift kit.

I'm guessing the cost of producing a new part to avoid the core charge route makes the kit very cost ineffective...
Thanks for the info Jim. I've looked into these in the past but the vendor I asked wouldn't provide any info on why he needed a core, or any pricing info, and since I have the S47 I just gave up worrying about it.

I spent several months last fall trying to find a shop willing to make the shifters from scratch.
It's actually not too bad of cost to get them cast, problem is it's a 'small' project and all the cast companies here are too busy to care about the little guy. So I gave up on making new ones and have to rely on the cores.

Like I said earlier, the 47's have a slight advantage over the 42's, but there is still a noticeable decrease in throw. If you ever change your mind, or get to drive a truck with a short throw, let me know.

Will it take the slop out of the shifter or is that a different problem

Different problem. This just shortens the throw between gears.

Thumbs up

I just bought mine from Jim last Monday. Had it here on Thursday. Got it installed.... and.... it works GREAT! Top notch CNC work here. Perfect fit. So the wait was worth it.

Hi Jim,

Are there any more short throw kits left? If so how much are you asking for one?

Thanks
Martin

Hi Ford Pride,

Thanks for the welcome. I tried looking for a way to contact Jim either via email or IM, but couldn't figure it out. Maybe I am just a tard.

Do you have Jim's email?

Thanks
Martin

I have a couple sitting here ready to go, and I mod them as I get my cores back.
I tried to pm you but can't.
Shoot me an email, sales@RosewoodDieselShop.com.
