"AVALON, N.J. (AP) - Hurricane Irene continued on a course early Thursday expected to cause flooding and bring tree-toppling winds to New Jersey. State emergency management officials called it a "dangerous storm" but held off issuing any evacuation directives until they could better establish the storm's path.
Avalon south of Atlantic City was one of the first shore towns to warn people to stay away this weekend, posting an advisory on its website requesting people not come to the barrier island until the storm passes. Town officials also urged renters scheduled to department Saturday to leave a day early to avoid traffic gridlock."

Our governor has just declared State of Emergency on the entire Jersey shore from Sandy Hook to Cape May including all barrier islands for voluntary evacuations starting immediately, and has put 6000 Nation Guard troops on stand-by.

Looks like lobster-tail, TV and food all weekend.
We can still use the tickets some time soon ,during the week. Jane will just have to take a day off work.

Not good, DEMA is saying that this storm could knock out electric for up to a week. They are planning major evacuations from not just the beach areas.
