I think we breed them in the NY Metropolitan area and they transplant themselves else where!

Sounds like you have been busy and no you did not mention the siren across the street. There goes your excuse of sleeping through the pager going off.

AFternoon Neil. Neil my brother slept through the siren going off at the station, as well as the pager and 2 alarms worth of equipment once. He was razzed for awhile at the station for that. Especially since the 2 alarmer was at the bar at the end of the street. The guys on the engine even wound the q up going past the house.

 

Heck when our siren died a few years back, we actually had some of the residents in the hamlet where the fire hall is ask us when we were going to get the siren fixed!!!! It was not worth fixing so we spent the money and purchased a new one. Ours is set to go off at noon M-Sa. so people know when it is time to go inside for lunch

 

I slept through the trucks responding to a call up the road from me after being out at an all nighter structure fire which there was a fatality.
