trans question
hi,ive got a 77 f150 c-6 trans ...my question is ,,first and second shift fine ,but when it shifts to third ,it slips out ( rpms raise for a second)) then hits third?...and also when i take off from a complete stop..it clunks right off then shifts normaly,until third...all the gears (when fully engaged work fine )just right off the line,and third gear? thanks for the help!

sounds like an intermediate band out of adjustment, possible problem with the releese side of the band servo, or maybe even the pin missing from the modulator valve. BTW how is reverse?

thanks..reverse is fine accept when i shift to reverse it engages hard!(clunk)..im going to check out the mod valve this weekend ...see if thats the problem,maybe its time to change some fluid too!..thanks for the reply
