Inline 6 exhaust

Hi, today I was driving and hit a large pothole and immediately heard my exhaust tone change. Come to find out my exhaust had rusted and fell off leaving only the two catalyc converters attached. I was wondering if it is bad for the truck or motor to drive around with just the cats no muffler or tailpipe?

Noise

As stated it will not hurt your vehicle/engine but the sound really sucks.

Just yesterday I fixed the exhaust on my 96 F150 I6. It rusted at the exit of the 2nd cat. I was able to wire it up and drove it to and from work for three days making a bunch of racket w/o the muffler. It sounded like crap. The exhaust is 2 ½” pipe all the way from the exit of the first cat through a cheepie turbo muffler. It is not quiet like the stock muffler (small rumble) but at least I can hear the radio.

Why can't I post photos?

Thanks SideWinder, I did not know about the 25 rule. I do not dink around with sites like Photobucket so I will have to wait to hit 25.
