Short answer is yes. The 92-96s need a Torx driver to remove the bolts and seat belts. The earlier versions just need some bolts removed and you're good to go.
If you look at the edges of the top you should see a plastic cover held on by phillips head screws. Remove those, start with the section on top towards the front. Underneath these covers are the bolts holding the top on to the truck. Remove those, but make sure you number them so you know which bracket goes where. Once these are off, get someone to help move the top. It's ~120lbs. Store it on top of 2x4s 4" off the ground. Do a search for top removal and you should find some other ideas for top storage and removal hints/tricks.
Its really easy to remove just get a buddy to help cuz you won't get it off your self. A few bolts i would think with a buddy it would take about 20 min to 30 mins.
Just be aware that the newer ones have that third brake light up on the removable top- it's wired in and you'll have to disconnect it. Also, the shoulder harness seat belts are tied into the top, but you can undo those as well.
Does anyone have some pictures of the top being removed from an 87-91? and if I remove the top will the vacum effect take place causing fumes to go in the truck? I would really like to pull up in school with the top off! it would be pretty sweet.
Just wondering, if you all think it's safe to park on the street/grocery store/etc. with the top off - obviously leaving nothing of temptation in the truck. Anyone ever have a problem with troublesome night or daytime invaders messing with your ride?
i had no problems with theft during the 2 weeks i had it off, but maybe i was lucky. i also have an alarm in there with motion sensors to if any one reaches in they are screwed! just try to park in well lit places with lots of people and you should be fine! just dont blame me if anything gets stolen!
For those concerned about not finding your topless Bronco where you left it. A suggestion (short of an expensive and extensive anti-theft system).
Its interesting what you can discover by reading through the owner's manual. When ever I walk away from my '92 with the top removed, I remove two fuses. EFI trucks are good for this trick. They effectively eliminate the possibility of having it wander off on you. Hint: fuel pump and ignition computer. By the time any would-be theif could figure out what wasn't working, where the circuits are located and how to jump the fuse terminals, they will be getting a "free" ride in one of those special Crown Victoria's with the red and blue lights on top. The greatest selling point to this trick is that even if they manage to get the keyswitch to turn, all the "idiot lights on the dashboard still light up like they would when you first start it.....after that...NOTHING!

ok. the pictures are great, now if I remove the top and then put it back on perfectly would I have problems with water leaking into my truck? because I was told that it never seals the same. is that a bunch of crap?
