I bought my 83 F250 4X4 to keep at my house on the river, I've almost got all of the repairs done to make it dependable, just need to install a winch. I've got a 16K Ramsey PTO winch I want to put on. Anybody have a forward and reverse PTO for a T-19 laying around that they'd be willing to part with? Really don't want to buy a new one, but if that's what it takes
be cheaper to buy a new one I am sure LOL I had it for sale years ago for a 1000 bucks for the whole truck you could not build the winch and bumper for that and it was running at the time . Now its not running has not run for 8 years but the trans and transfercase are still good its a gasser 400 m one ton 4x4
Started to ask location and then looked at your profile. BC, I think that's a little far for a road trip, although I plan to come through the area next year on a trip up to Alaska
Anybody else????? Maybe a little closer?
Do you have any upfitters in your area?? look for companies that specialize in building tow trucks!! Out here we have Tow World and they have so many new and used parts I bet you could find one. I just junked a NP435 with the unit you needed 3 weeks ago!!!
I looked everywhere for a reversible PTO and couldnt find one. I do have a 2 speed/constant drive i would part with...
Thanks, but no thanks That wouldn't do me much good.

Haven't seen a tow truck around here in probably 25 years with a mechanical winch on it, they have all gone to hydraulics. Only ones you see are huge oilfield trucks now days. Not sure on the PTO for a 435, but almost certain it wouldn't work.
The reason I want to put the PTO winch on is for security, not much chance someone is going to steal an old PTO winch.
I'm interested in that 2-speed constant drive for my T19. Do you have any other details?, like percentages of engine speed, torque rating?...
Thx
Jay
If i remember right the single shaft and one of the doubles are constant 1:1. The other of the double is 1:1/N/2.73:1. If you're serious about buying then shoot me an email with an offer... and shipping will hurt if you're very far away...
Good luck on finding a reverser... I sure didnt have any...
Still haven't found a used PTO and definately won't be buying a new one, priced one today.... just $850 Gonna dig through some of my junk and see if I have enough parts to hook it up as a hydraulic drive.
Look for a PTO with your bolt pattern size. It can come off of lots of transmissions. You can change the gears in the PTO to fit your application. Add spacer plates etc. You just need a good housing. You can convert an air operated PTO to a mechanical easily also.
I have quite a few PTOs laying around, leftovers from a lifetime of working on trucks and heavy equipment. My experience in rebuilding them has been locating parts. Seems like they are pretty much obsolete when new and getting parts to build one for another application usually cost more than a complete new unit.
To bad the t case in these trucks does not have pto access then you could run any PTO and just shift from forward to reverse on the trans with the t case in neutral.
