The passenger side door on my 54 f100 does not set correctly against the body. I can adjust the door brackets to make the whole door fit correctly, except that is, for the top outer corner. It sticks out about one-half inch from the body. My mechanic thought that we could correct it with a 4'x2"x4" made into a prybar. We pulled and tugged, but that door is tough. It didn't budge. Is it necessary to heat the metal first? Where? I want to get this fixed before I send the truck in for paint. Has anybody else had to fix a problem like this? Thanks, John
is the door from a different year that possibly had a slightly different body line? if you try bending it too much the window wont fit in. also a lot of times with older trucks the body parts werent perfect to start with and you had to get a happy medium by adjusting the parts and moving them around untill it was all 'good enough'.
The door looks the same as the driver side so I'm guessing it is from 54. I know what you mean by maybe just having to live with it because that was the way it was back then. Thanks, John
