Hey, new member and first post. Im going into the dealer tomorrow to talk and crunch some numbers. Hopefully by the end of it I'll be walking out after ording a new 2012 F350. Just wondering if there's anything i should watch for or know about? I intend on putting a leveling kit in right away but have bigger plans later on for an 8 inch lift and 37s. Any advice on that would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks!
Call Ford customer service, sorry don't have the number on hand and ask for them to send you info on the truck. My brochure had a coupon for $750, that you can't get anywhere else.
Don't let them do any of that additional dealer mark up crap, and don't believe them when they say they aren't making any money if the sell to you at dealer invoice. Basically I would just spec out what you want ahead of time on KBB (if the 2012s are up) and look at the invoice price and push for that minus rebates.
Dont call Ford customer service until a couple weeks before truck is scheduled to arrive $750 coupon has an experation date (I'm thinking it was six weeks but can't remember for sure.)

That's how mine was also. I got one in the mail that expired 7/15/11 and one via e-mail that expired on 7/18/11 and they were received six weeks prior respectively.
I didn't order mine......they got it from another dealer. So, I used mine at delivery. That said, I'd guess that you wouldn't use it until the truck is delivered regardless of whether you order or buy from stock.
I ordered my '05 and didn't pay a penny, deposit, etc. No money changed hands until the truck was delivered. A lot of dealers require a deposit when you order but mine didn't. I would have ordered this time but I found exactly what I wanted at a dealer about 100 miles south of here so my dealer here went and got it. Plus, when I ordered my '05, it was in September of '04. After numerous delays, it didn't come in until the day before Christmas Eve of '04.
This time around, I already had my $750 coupon that was going to expire so the timing was good all around.
To me, the question is not when the money actually changes hands, but where in the process the dealer needs to be notified of the coupon. Is it part of cutting the deal, or can you just show up to pay and use it just like cash?
The money is from Ford so it shouldn't affect your deal with the dealer whatsoever. I knew going in what my deal was going to be so it wasn't a concern. I guess it's up to the individual but if you wanted to make your deal first and then tell them about the coupon, it wouldn't hurt anything. Since it's Ford money and not the dealer's, I don't think it's going to matter though.
Thanks guys. i went and priced it today and they gave me a price of $71253 taxes in, on the road. (keep in mind im in canada, ughhhhh!!!) Thants without trying to talk them down any. How much you think i can get him down? he already said thats the final price, bahahaha what a joke. Thanks again!
First. I love this site.
Second, I have yet to buy a new F350 mostly because of the W factor.
If I can help 2thiteen that would make me happy.
Check out carcostcanada.com. Not sure if the 2012 are available yet,
but that site will give the dealer cost on a 2011. So it should give you a good
idea at what the cost should be. The site does cost about $25
to sign up, but it's a small price to pay if you can get thousand of $$ off.
That is how I got a good deal on my Focus.
The good thing is that carcost will send your info to the nearest Ford dealer
that would be willing to deal with you. Hope it helps.
I priced out a 2011 F350 Lariat SRW 156 loaded with NAV and the cost came to $77,849 retail.
Cost is $69,243 - $5500 incentive = $63,743 before taxes and stuff.
You might be better off to go south and buy one.
