having problems with the starter
Battery works: you have lights, radio
Starter relay works: it clicks
Nothing from the starter itself, not sure if it is the starter or the solenoid.
Did pull off the skinny wire that connects to the solenoid and cleaned the connection as best I could (on the solenoid, went by feel)
The thick cable that comes from the battery to the starter is tight.
What could it be, the starter or the solenoid?
not sure if it may be the solenoid, the starter motor makes no noise or does not turn over.
This also hapened the other day as well, I went under the truck and tugged on the wires and it started, now today nothing.
I did replace those two wires a while back, the ones that go to the starter motor.

...if the click you hear is quite loud , it could be the selenoid working...if you try it with the road lights on and they dim significantly..this would suggest that the fault is on the starter armature....quite often the bronze bushes wear and the starter shorts out or becomes open circuit. or the brushes wear....finally if you can get at the selenoid to give it a sharp Tap when trying to start, it may free it if it is stuck enough for you to start the vehicle, or if you can manually turn the armature on the starter slightly via removal of the cap on the back of the unit (it reveals a square on the end of the armature) and the the vehicle starts this would show the armature up as open circuit on one of the windings ( faulty)...this is only a rough guide
Good luck
